    We have tried and tested a number of granola recipes over the years but the most recent, which comes from Tom Miller, a friend of ours, stands out as a winner with just the right amount of sweetness and moisture.

    Tom's Granola

    Prep Time: 10 minutes
    Cook Time: 40 minutes

    Ingredients

    • 8 cups Rolled oats
    • 1.5 cups Wheat germ
    • 1.5 cups Oat bran
    • 1 cup Sunflower seeds
    • 1 cup Almonds - chopped
    • 1 cup Pecans - chopped
    • 1 cup Walnuts
    • 1.5 tsp Salt
    • 1/2 cup Soft brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup Maple syrup
    • 3/4 cup Honey
    • 1 cup Canola oil
    • 1 tbsp Cinnamon
    • 1 tbsp Vanilla extract

    Instructions

    • Preheat the oven to 325ºF.
    • Combine the first 8 ingredients in a very large bowl.
    • Combine the remaining ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from the heat.
    • Pour the saucepan mixture over the dry ingredients and mix well.
    • Prepare two large sheet pans by spraying lightly with Cooking spray or line with parchment paper.
    • Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool completely before storing in sealed containers.
